The Residence La Vetreria is situated in the historical centre of Catania, nearby the Ursino Castle. From the beginning of XX century it was an artistic mirror factory with the apartments of its owner's family on the upper floors. In 2003 it was refurbished keeping the cosy and friendly atmosphere of the Sicilian houses belonging to that period. It is going to be a pleasant surprise discovering in the hall, a decorated altar, dedicated to Catania's patron Saint Agata. At the first floor, there are two wonderful drawing rooms with original frescos, where take place meetings, parties in a subtle atmosphere. A big terrace, facing on the big square of the medieval Ursino Castle, completes the big drawing rooms apartment. All the hand-made accessories show a special care. Unfortunately we do not have a restaurant within our residence but breakfast is a special moment so that you will find every morning a rich buffet with cakes and croissants, baked bread with butter and marmalade, yogurt, cheese, short bread, fruit juices and owning the right season, fresh orange juice, cappucino, coffee, tea and more and more... The residence La Vetreria is shared into 13 apartments with a total of 22 rooms. Also in these rooms, as in the whole house, you can notice a special care for details just to make the sty really comfortable. As in the past, the lamps, the curtains and hand-made pillows sham make the already warm rooms, very charming and pleasant. All the rooms have private bathrooms with hair drier, direct telephone, ADSL connection, safe, minibar, Pay Tv, self-heating and all the stuff you need to make a coffee or a tea. Walking around you can recognize the rich sicilian baroque in the palaces and monuments, the UNESCO patrimony. Passing through La Pescheria, the ancient market, behind the Dome where we can find the monument dedicated to the elephant, curious symbol of Catania. Keeping on walking you can admire the wonderful street full of churches, the Crociferi one, the Greek Theatre, the Dante's square where there is the great monastery of Benedettini, now site of the University, admirable fountains, museums dedicated to the characters that with their art made our city famous: Vincenzo Bellini, Giovanni Verga, Emilio Greco. Hotel service enjoying the most homely intimacy and comfort.
